Instagram Banner DIY with Pinned Posts

I’ve been planning a refresh for my social media, and I made a cute lil seamless banner / pinned post trio for S&S on insta. I figured I’d share the process in case anyone else wants to try.

I’ve been planning a refresh for my social media, and I made a cute lil seamless banner / pinned post trio for S&S on insta, and I use the captions for an about me + info about upcoming events. I figured I’d share the process in case anyone else wants to try.

Here’s how!

1. Create a horizontal canva doc at 3036 x 1350 px (this is the new preview with 3:4 ratio)

2. Add a background pattern (I used my brand pattern with lowered opacity) and then arrange various images. I stylized them by using remove background and adding an outline (edit- shadow- outline, adjust thickness and color) in my brand colors.

3. Collage using bring forward/backward position options

4. Export PNG. Use online converter (I used https://grid.mysocialboutique.co/grid-maker/) to split into 3 using the carousel option

5. Upload in reverse. The plan is for it to show in order on your page (unpinned) as 1 2 3, so you upload as 3 2 1. Use full original dimensions/don’t crop it.

6. You can then pin them in reverse order (3,2,1), so they stay at the top of your page. (If you ever decide to unpin them, the way you uploaded them makes sure they will remain in order on your profile when shown as regular posts, which is great)

All set!! Everything lines up and looks cute, plus provides important info to your followers.

I used mine to include some basic FAQs but you can use them however you’d like!
